The heritage of La Roche-Posay is rooted in a legend dating back to the 14th century, when a French nobleman, de Poncillon, was reportedly cured of a skin condition in the village spring water. This led to the creation of the thermal station in the La Roche-Posay village in Vienne, France, which Napoleon Bonaparte later turned into a military hospital. In 1905, the spa was officially recognized as a thermal treatment center. The modern dermo-cosmetic brand was founded in 1975 with a mission to make these therapeutic benefits accessible worldwide.
